Torquay United Football Club is pleased to announce that the club has agreed a partnership with The Cavendish Hotel, Belgrave Road, Torquay.
“The Cavendish Hotel is now our official hotel partner” said club secretary Rob Stanley.
“Finding accommodation is a constant challenge for the club, so this agreement comes at an ideal time heading into the new season.
“We’ll be recommending The Cavendish to away teams and supporters. It is an ideal place to hold some club events too.”
Player-manager Kevin Nicholson is pleased with the link-up.
“The Cavendish has seen what we are trying to do and they want to help us out. I’m incredibly grateful to James and the guys down there. We’ve come to an agreement where some of our players, whether they be full-time, or on loan, get to use their facilities. It’s a partnership that will hopefully work for both of us” said Kevin.
James Ryder, manager of The Cavendish Hotel, thinks the deal will serve both parties.
“We’ve worked with Torquay United before, but this time after talking to Sharon Cox (Torquay United commercial manager) and Kevin Nicholson, I wanted to put something a bit better together” said James.
“Kevin Nicholson came in and we sat down, and he told me what he was after. I put some ideas together and it obviously suited what he wants.
Torquay United will hold various club events at The Cavendish, which has extensive experience hosting functions of all types.
“It looks good for both of us, and it also gets our name out into the community. It has knock on affects. A lot of our trade comes from holiday makers, but there is also trade that comes from having a large function room.”
“It is nice that we are doing something that helps the club. I wasn’t born in Torquay, but I’ve been here since I was three years-old. To me Torquay is my home town, and it always will be. Hopefully this will help in getting the club moving in the right direction once again”.
