TORQUAY United Community Sports Trust (TUCST) sets sail into 2017 with a brand new chairman, a new management team and a new focus to engage with people across South Devon by using the diverse attractions of all sport.
In line with new owners taking over at Torquay United Football Club, it is fantastic to be embarking on an exciting era for TUCST under the management of Craig Hutcheson, who began his role five months ago and is already making his mark on the Trust.
Craig is an experienced coach, having delivered programmes across South Devon for many years, and he is now working alongside Christine Pountney, the recently-appointed Chairman of the Trust Board, to establish new partners and a fresh approach for TUCST.
“The Trust has undergone a lot of changes in the last year,” said Christine. “We have re-defined our focus to encourage participation in all sports, not just football, to improve the health and wellbeing of all ages in the Community. Along with many new partners, we are now running lifestyle courses with positive results.”
TUCST is already establishing new partnerships across the health, education and inclusion sectors, while also expanding our provision at Development Centres across the region, as we look to identify and harness future talent.
“It has been an exciting whirlwind for TUCST in recent months and I am delighted with the progress we have made so far,” said Craig. “There is a clear vision for the coming year, and beyond. We have a dedicated team of coaches and staff, offering opportunities in all sports to stimulate all sectors of our community.”
