Midfielder Joe Ward has returned to his parent club West Bromwich Albion after the end of his loan spell.
Joe, 19, joined in August and quickly made an impression on the coaching team and the Yellow Army. A standout display on his debut in a 2-1 win against Dover Athletic will be among the many impressive displays that the youngster made during his time at Plainmoor.
“We are hugely grateful to West Bromwich Albion for allowing us to have Joe and even more grateful to Joe himself who came here and has played a very positive role in our season so far,” said Torquay United player-manager Kevin Nicholson.
“He is a very good guy, and a very good player who I believe has huge potential to go on and have a very good career.
Despite returning to WBA to assess his options, Kevin Nicholson has not ruled out a return for Joe if the opportunity presents itself.
“I know he enjoyed his time here and the door is definitely not closed for him in the future but I respect that he needs to see what his future holds at WBA. He is in the last year of his contract and is both keen and capable of playing in the Football League.
We would like to thank Joe for his time with the Club and wish him the very best for his career going forward.
