UNITED boss Martin Ling will be at the front of the queue for big strikers when the transfer window reopens on New Year’s Day.
The Gulls have decided not to pursue their interest in trialist Eric Odhiambo, preferring to focus on the search for a more physical forward option to cover an injury crisis at Plainmoor.
“I’ve stated before that we need a striker,” said Martin. “I’m obviously keen for the injuries to clear up but we are short on numbers in the forward area.
“Eric is not with us anymore. I felt we needed a bigger type because my worry is that if we lose Rene Howe, and without Ryan Jarvis as well, we have no physical presence up front. We are looking to fetch in a bigger type of player when January arrives.”
