BILLY Bodin has been called-up by the Wales Under-21 squad for their European Championship qualifier against Armenia on Wednesday, August 15.
The explosive winger will now be unavailable for United’s first competitive game of the season when Leicester visit Plainmoor in the Capital One Cup.
“Billy Bodin can’t play the first game of the season against Leicester because he has been called up by Wales Under-21s,” said manager Martin Ling.
“He will be away from Sunday to Wednesday and that’s why he only played half-hour against Stoke and he will do the same at Weston-super-Mare on Friday.
“It is a little bit disappointing to lose him, especially when you look at the goal against Stoke and some of his touches were very good, but he will be ready for the league campaign at Fleetwood.”
