Crash leaves Leadbitter shaken

YOUNG United full-back Daniel Leadbitter had a brutal trip to training on Monday morning.

Danny was travelling to Plainmoor with Billy Bodin when their car was hit by a bus, leaving the defender feeling shaken up by the experience.

As a precaution, neither player trained after the incident but both should be fine for tonight’s trip to Barnet in League 2.

“We have 22 fit players for tonight but we did have two non-trainers yesterday in Daniel Leadbitter and Billy Bodin,” said manager Martin Ling.

“The car they were travelling to training in was hit by a bus and Daniel was really shaken up because it was his side the bus hit, but we don’t feel there was any damage.

“Billy wanted to train but we wouldn’t allow it and Daniel was a little shook up. It was somewhere in Torquay and the bus was indicating to go in the bus stop, but had a late change of mind and swung out again.

“Billy was driving and it hit the car on Daniel’s side, but they should both be fine and available tonight.”
