UNITED have released George Artemi after his four-month contract at Plainmoor expired.
The former Leyton Orient youngster joined the Gulls in September as a versatile defender but over time, manager Martin Ling has viewed George as more of a defensive midfielder.
Unfortunately, that area of the Yellow squad is well stocked, with the likes of Damon Lathrope, Craig Easton and Lee Mansell all capable of playing the role of engine room enforcer.
“George has done ok during his time here but it’s a position where we’ve got an awful lot of bodies,” said Martin. “He came in as a centre-half/right-back, but we see him as a centre-midfielder.
“We have got a lot of cover in that area, so we felt the right thing would be to allow George to move on.”
