HIS career has followed a similar path to former Yellow favourite Eunan O’Kane and Nathan Craig is showing the same sort of potential.
When asked for one to watch this season, United boss Martin Ling opted for Welsh midfielder Nathan, who, like Eunan, returned to his homeland after failing to graduate from the Everton youth system.
Nathan found his feet back in Wales and impressed Martin sufficiently in an extended trial last season to earn himself a two-year deal.
“There are a couple of young boys in [Kirtys] MacKenzie and [Niall] Thompson that have progressed nicely, but the one who has really impressed in pre-season is Nathan Craig,” said Martin.
“If you look at Eunan O’Kane and his career, and I don’t want to put added pressure on Nathan, but they both started at Everton, went back to their homeland, came here on trial and made it big.
“Nathan Craig went back to find his feet in Wales after leaving Everton and he has had a successful trial here.
“It is now over to him because Eunan took that next step and I think Nathan has the ability in his feet to also do the same. If I had to pick one player people don’t know from last year, it would be Nathan.”
