United boss Paul Buckle was frustrated with the home defeat by Bournemouth and thought that his player's efforts deserved a better return: 'I think a draw might have been a fairer result if not a Torquay win but credit to Bournemouth they have got the three points. I feel sorry for my players because they have put a lot into this game and it was a good game of football but we need to take our chances at the vital moments which we didn't do.

'We pressed for all of the game and with and without the ball we pushed Bournemouth to the limit and we deserved more than what we got. We lost Chris Hargreaves and Kieran Charnock before half-time which were big blows for us because Bournemouth certainly offer a threat I the air although the lads who came on did nothing wrong. There is always disappointment when you concede goals but Steve Fletcher knows what he is doing, he is a big lad and he has been around a long time and we got squared up a little for the winning goal.

'If you don't take your chances when you have the pressure at this level it will more often than not come back and bite you. That is what happened in this match but I'm not too disappointed, I know exactly what areas we need to strengthen and I can't fault the effort of the players.'
