Lincoln City 0 United 0

United boss Paul Buckle was delighted with the 0-0 draw at Lincoln City and the efforts of his players: 'We were very unlucky, I'm proud of the way we played today. We asked for a clean sheet and we worked very hard in training this week on remaining solid and we did that, we did the nasty things well today and I thought we were by far the better team.

'We got the ball forward quicker and we created several chances. In the second half it was all us and I was just waiting for the net to bulge on more than one occasion but it didn't happen, overall though I'm pleased with a point but disappointed for the players that they didn't get all three.

'There were a couple of opportunities when I thought we really should have hit the target but the other misses were only inches away, it wasn't as if we missing by a lot. I thought some of them were in and there was some good movement leading up to the chances as well. We were very well organized and if we keep playing like that we will be absolutely fine.'

Paul also commented on his efforts to bring in some new faces to Plainmoor: 'It's difficult but we will attract players to Torquay. I was disappointed that we couldn't bring Chris Zebroski back to the club, he would have been fantastic for us and suited our style of play but it didn't happen. I am clear in my mind on the players I am looking for it is just a matter of trying to get them here. If we can continue to play the way we did to day then it gives us a bit of breathing space.

'The Zebroski deal is dead at the moment, we did make a bid for Chris which was accepted but he wants to stay and fight for his place at Wycombe which we respect. There are other targets although we missed out on three players last week so it is back to watching a few more games this week but at the same time working hard with the players already here because they definitely have something to offer the club at this level.

'John Yems will play a vital role in player recruitment, a good scout is vital, especially now when we are in a transitional period at the club. Everybody knows we have had the same group of players for two years so this is a time of change and John has his finger on the pulse up around London looking at players for us. I have watched some matches alongside him so he is getting a picture of what I am looking for and he could be worth his weight in gold to us.'
