We Need To Wise Up A Bit

Crewe Alexandra 1 United 1
United boss Paul Buckle was less than happy with the late equaliser that the Gulls conceded at Crewe: 'It isn't often that I get cross with the players but I am fuming to be honest, there was no danger, we just had to see the game out. I thought it was a good performance from us but we have only got ourselves to blame, we have got to clear our lines or Michael (Poke) has got to come and get the ball; it's very disappointing for all of us.
'The supporters played their part tonight, I asked them at the fan's forum on Monday night to get behind the players from the first minute to the last and they did that for us, they have travelled miles to be here and we had three points there for the taking but it is al least a point and we move on to try and take all three next time out.
'Chris Zebroski was immense tonight, we asked him to play high up the pitch with Elliot (Benyon) sitting in deeper and it worked a treat. We looked a good side for most of the match but we are giving away silly goals. It is individual errors which are hard to put right on the training ground and during a game you need your centre back and goalkeeper to understand when there is a dangerous situation occurring. I rarely come out and point the finger and I am very proud of the way we are battling at the moment but maybe we need to wise up a bit at times.
'We have to keep a clean sheet and I am trying very hard to be positive, which isn't normally like me, but we have to switch on as a team, clear our lines and do the nasty side of the game and see things out. The slightest thing we do wrong at the moment seems to end in us being punished but feeling sorry for ourselves is no good we have to be more professional and then we will go and win games because we always score.
'I made a change at the break with Kieran coming off, he had taken a knock and he isn't used to playing on the right but I decided to go with Branston and Charnock because I thought we lacked a presence in the air and we seemed to get that right tonight, we seemed to get a lot of things right tonight but then we go and concede at the death.'
