Cheltenham Town 1 United 1

United boss Paul Buckle gave his reaction to the 1-1 draw at Cheltenham: 'Over the ninety minutes I thought we deserved more than a draw. We went behind to a freak goal and up to that point I thought our defending was solid but what can you do about a strike like Barry Hayles produced tonight.

'It was all us in the second half, we have shown that we can dominate parts of a game and we are disappointed that we haven't won the game but we have to turn these hard earned points into wins.

'Obviously the player's heads dropped a little after conceding a goal like we did but at half-time I asked the players if they were going to let it keep them down, it certainly wasn't going to get me down and I told them that I thought there was something here for us. I came and watched them play at the weekend and once you get a hold over the way that they play the ball up to the experienced front two you can get a foothold in the game and we did that in the second period.

'The back four were outstanding tonight and there have been some outstanding individual performances in these last two games but we just haven't managed to get the points that we have deserved. It is a question of putting the ball in the back of the net, we didn't have enough shots on their goal although we dominated the second half but we are improving in every game.

'Mustapha (Carayol) scored a great goal but that is what I want from the wingers and strikers. I said to Mustapha before he went on that he needed to provide a cross or a shot when he was in the right areas and when the chance came he jinked inside and finished very well.

'We had nearly three hundred and fifty supporters here on a Tuesday night which is incredible; they have been outstanding the whole time I have been at this football club. We achieved a lot with their backing and we are going to need them more than ever now and we need as many as possible at Plainmoor on Saturday for what is another massive game.'
