Bucks was understandably pleased with the 1-0 victory over Macclesfield that meant United went through April unbeaten: 'I'm absolutely thrilled, I'm delighted and it's another big win for us. It would have been very easy for us to come off the gas today now that we are safe and sometimes these types of games don't produce much, but credit to the players. We have worked very hard this week in training and we have got our rewards.

'I didn't think we did a lot wrong in the first half, their 'keeper was fantastic and pulled off one or two unbelievable saves and I wanted us to keep on making chances. I won't criticise anyone for missing and I told them if we keep tapping at the door and we keep creating chances then I was confident that we would score. The one worry was that if you don't score a goal for eighty minutes then there is a chance that the opposition may go down the other end and nick one but credit to the back four because their concentration levels were high and Michael Poke who didn't have anything to do all day.

'I thought their 'keeper was going to steal the show and in my opinion it would have been unfair if a Macclesfield player had stole the show because my team really deserved to win, we looked exciting, strong and it keeps our unbeaten run going.'

In-form United winger Mustapha Carayol went off with a knee injury and Paul was asked the extent of the knock: 'We won't know until Sunday but we hope he will be okay. It was a case of taking no risks with him and getting him off. '

Bucks also gave some background to only naming five substitutes for this match: 'That is all we have left really. We have allowed Adam Smith to go back to Tottenham so he is training with Spurs at the moment but if we need him to start a game then he will be straight back. Mo Camara has gone now, he wasn't quite for us and we have put that one to bed. There is nothing wrong with having four or five subs on the bench, Scott Bevan was struggling to be fit for the bench and I could have put some youngsters on there but I feel they need to earn the right first.

'I'm very pleased with the outcome of today's performance and the result.'
