Bucks was very pleased with his team's performance against League 1 Plymouth Argyle in their friendly at Plainmoor which finished with the Gulls coming out on top 3-1: ''Going a goal down early brings you back down to earth pretty quickly but you have to accept it. You are certainly up against it when that comes from bigger club with bigger name players and a manager like Peter Reid who was a top player and is a top manager. Plymouth meant business at the start, they had a big support here and I am absolutely delighted with how the players responded, we had a young side out, we deserved to draw level and all of the team have done themselves a massive favour tonight.

''We scored a good first goal, you can see why we have brought Martin Gritton back here, and he is a real handful for anyone. Martin won plenty in the air tonight and he held the ball and laid it off for Lloyd's goal with great awareness. We got more confident as the game went on and in the end we deserved to win the game. I said to the players after the match: 'don't let anyone kid you that it is alright to lose because it isn't. This is all about winning.' We are proud to have won this game tonight.''

United's next friendly is at Bovey Tracey on Wednesday evening and Bucks stressed that the entire first team squad would be attending the match: ''The whole squad will be reporting to Bovey Tracey and it would be a perfect time for supporters to come down there and meet the players and pick up a few autographs. It would be great to see a big turnout.''
