Bucks had the satisfaction of yet again looking back on a pre-season victory and another solid performance in United's final pre-season friendly. This time it was League 1 Yeovil Town who went away defeated by a Kevin Nicholson goal but played their part in an entertaining finale to the summer preparations. Paul responded to Yeovil boss Terry Skiverton's remarks that the Gulls were looking a good bet this season: ''Results would suggest that but pre-season is now over, next week will be a normal week leading up to the Northampton game and the big test for us will come next Saturday at 3 o'clock. We will now a lot more about how well the summer went by next Saturday evening.

''Today's team wasn't necessarily the starting line-up for next weekend, there are one or two players who are nailed on, I thought the back four did very well against Yeovil and I took off Lee Mansell and Chris Zebroski to give them a rest but we have shown great flexibility through the pre-season schedule and it showed again against Yeovil.

Paul was asked if there would be any additions to the squad before next Saturday: ''I don't know yet, if we defend again like we did in the last fifteen minutes against Yeovil there might be a couple coming in! In fairness we were fantastic today and I know there were a lot of changes going on in the last ten minutes but we let things get a little too easy for Yeovil and that won't be good enough in League 2. That may be me being a touch harsh but that is where we are at, our standards have been very high this summer and I won't be letting any of those standards drop.

''I'm delighted the way pre-season has gone, we have looked very fit, we have won games, we have looked ready but no doubt next Saturday we will still need that little bit of luck to go our way. ''

Don't forget the open day at Plainmoor tomorrow morning at 11.45am when supporters will be able to watch the first team training and purchase the new away kit for 2010/11. Entry is FREE.
