ELLIOT PUTS PEN TO PAPER

United striker Elliot Benyon today signed a new 1 year contract with the Gulls. Elliot, 21, was out of contract at the end of last season and being under 24 years of age any move to another club would have meant a fee being involved. That scenario, though, wasn't an issue with Elliot always planning to sign a new contract: 'It was an easy decision to make, when I was offered a new contract that was it for me as far as I was concerned. The club going back into the Football League is a massive thing and for me personally it is very exciting. I'm really looking forward to it, I need to get a good pre-season in and go from there.

This is a fresh start for all the players at the club and we will all be doing our best to get a place in the team. Personally, I'm going to work my socks off. We always said that the squad was good enough to get back into League 2 and I'm sure there will be some additions to the squad so we will be even stronger.'
