Bucks Frustrated Despite Strong Display

United 0 Rotherham 2
United boss Paul Buckle was upbeat despite the 2-0 defeat at home to Rotherham: 'I feel very frustrated, I feel for the players because we have dominated the game against a very good team. The players who have come in did very well but we didn't take our chances and when you don't convert chances it usually comes back to haunt you. Good luck to Rotherham, they have got their three points but we know we will play a lot worse and win comfortably.
'I thought Adam Smith was fantastic, he knows what he is doing as a defender and he certainly gave us some attacking flair. He thoroughly deserved the man of the match award. The whole team played the conditions very well, we had long spells of pressure throughout the game, you might have thought that against the wind in the second half we would have been under pressure but we weren't. There are a lot of things to build on from today despite the result.'
'The first goal is obviously important and our pressure deserved a goal, we played well and it was very disappointing in the end but you saw the response from the supporters, they applauded the team as if we had drawn or won the match so we have got to be positive because there is no time to be negative ahead of the trip to Port Vale on Tuesday.
'I can't moan at the players but I was disappointed with the first goal because we worked on that scenario in training on Friday, especially the second phase and I was fearful that we would mark space rather than the man and that is what actually happened. The second goal was also disappointing because people will look at a 2-0 scoreline and think Rotherham were comfortable. The second goal from our point of view was poor, if it had been on the counter attack when we were pushing forward I wouldn't have minded but a ball over the top with us not marking gifts them a goal.
'I felt we pressed the ball really well, we got at Rotherham, we didn't sit back and double mark and we certainly didn't play like a team sitting down at the bottom of the league. We stepped forward but we didn't get the goals our play deserved, but well done to Rotherham.'
