A very enjoyable afternoon was had at Plainmoor on Sunday when a Hollyoaks XI took on a selection of former United greats in a charity game. A crowd containing some new faces to Plainmoor - there seemed to be a larger than normal female contingent! - enjoyed the match and took the opportunity for some autograph hunting and chats with the players.

The United team contained many United players who were managed by the late Cyril Knowles and his family were present with Julian, one of his sons, starting the match. The final score was 2-2 with the Gulls' goals coming from Paul Smith & John Morrison.
