The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week, the F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award should go to Torquay United following their amazing 5-0 win over highflying Rochdale in Coca Cola League Two on Saturday 10th April 2010.

Elliot Benyon scored twice as Torquay thrashed League Two leaders Rochdale to boost their survival hopes.

Dale could have clinched promotion, but fell behind in the 29th minute, when Scott Rendell turned home Chris Zebroski's scuffed effort.

Rochdale cleared an effort off the line but Benyon headed home twice on 31 and 35 minutes to make it 3-0 at the interval.

Seventeen minutes into the second half, Nicky Wroe added a fourth from the spot after Frank Fielding fouled Benyon, and Mustapha Carayol completed the rout after bursting into the area, 13 minutes from time.

Torquay United manager Paul Buckle was naturally delighted "I think we're capable of beating anyone on our day, we've pushed teams all the way this season.

"Today we got it right and we showed we can not only compete at this level, but when we play like that we can match and go beyond the top teams.

"We've played a good side today, the players have performed brilliantly, and we thoroughly deserved our win."

Bucks will collect the award on Friday before the team depart on their trip to Grimsby.
