Central defender Guy Branston has agreed a permanent deal to join the Gulls for the start of the 2010/11 season. Guy made a huge impact during his loan spell last season and played 16 times for United making his debut against Crewe last February.

Bucks was delighted to be able to confirm the news: ''Guy has signed a one year deal with us and he will bring a wealth of experience to a young squad. He made a huge difference to us last season at just the right time and formed a formidable partnership with Mark Ellis which was continued by Kieran Charnock when he returned to the team.

''With Guy back in the ranks and hopefully Martin Gritton as well we have experienced players able to bring on the younger players like Mark Ellis, Billy Kee and Elliot Benyon. Guy is already a firm favourite with the supporters and it is a great addition for the club. He had other offers on the table which would probably have given him more money but Torquay United is the place he wants to be at and we welcome him back.''

Guy is expected to be involved in Wednesday night's friendly with Bristol City at Plainmoor, KO 7.45pm.
