Vuvuzelas Banned At Plainmoor

Torquay United Stadium Manager Rob Stanley has confirmed that Vuvuzelas will be banned from Plainmoor ahead of the 2010/11 season. The Vuvuzela - also known as Lepatata - grabbed the attention of global football followers after its use in the 2009 Federations Cup and this summer's FIFA World Cup. The ''instrument'' has caused a mixed reaction from supporters all around the world and has already been banned at a number of English football grounds.

The club wishes to keep Plainmoor as supporter friendly as possible and it is felt that to allow the use of Vuvuzelas would potentially impact on the matchday enjoyment of spectators and spoil Plainmoor's unique atmosphere.
