Grandstand Capacity To Be Cut

Stadium Manager Rob Stanley has confirmed that United's aging Grandstand has had to have its capacity cut by 250 seats due to safety regulations. Under current guidelines there is a maximum time limit for evacuating the Grandstand in an emergency and for the club to be able to carry this safety measure out within the time allotted there needs to be a reduction in capacity.

120 seats will be taken from the away allocation at the Babbacombe End of the blue stand while the remaining 130 seats will be taken out of use in the yellow stand area. Current Season Ticket holders will not be affected by these measures as the allocation will be taken from un-named seats.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these measures but we will put the safety of supporters first at all times. As has already been announced recently the club is involved in plans to build a brand new grandstand and should the plans come to fruition this will of course comply with regulations that would see a larger capacity than currently exists in this area of Plainmoor.
