United boss Paul Buckle has revealed that last week he turned down an offer from an unnamed League 1 club for young centre back Mark Ellis. Ellis, 21, has featured prominently in United's record breaking clean sheet run which stretches back into last season and has benefited from Paul's policy of trying to develop young talent alongside more experienced heads. Bucks has formed a young squad which currently has a 100% record in League 2 this season and are one of only two teams in the entire Football League to have won all of its games (QPR in the Championship are the other team).

There has been plenty of media speculation about many members of the current United squad and the possibility of other clubs interest in them and Bucks has been quick to praise the players but with United top of the table there is no great desire or need to get involved in the transfer market: ''Elliot Benyon is the obvious one because he is playing up front and getting goals but we have a number of young players performing well. Mark Ellis was immense against Bradford and we also have Eunan O'Kane, Billy Kee and Danny Stevens who are all good, young players. My phone has been ringing but I'm not interested in selling anyone.''
