Goalkeeper Scott Bevan was one of the stars of United's JPT victory at AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday and goalkeeping coach Kenny Veysey was keen to stress how hard both Scott and Danny Potter have been working this season: ''Scott has been brilliant, obviously Danny (Potter) coming in has boosted things as well. We have been very lucky over the last couple of years with the goalkeepers we have had at the club, they have had great attitudes. Danny has been very good for Scott and they have been training brilliantly together. Scott deserves a pat on the back, he trains hard and hopefully he will get the recognition his performances have deserved.

''Of course it is a team game but goalkeepers are individuals without sounding selfish but you are always aware of how things are going for the people in front of you. Things have been settled in the defence for a while now with the great run we have been on and we just want to keep that going, I think the lads are in that sort of mentality at the moment where you just want to go out and win and not even contemplate conceding a goal.''

United's clean sheet record figure was set after conceding at Port Vale last Saturday and Kenny is pleased but not surprised that the team have continued with their fine defensive record that has stemmed from Scott's excellent form: ''The goal we conceded at Port Vale was a great finish and we did look at it and see of things could have been done differently to not let it in but sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say it was a great strike. There was obviously a bit of disappointment letting one in but since then the team have just continued to go out and do the same positive things that got us the record in the first place. It's not luck, we are well drilled and the lads work very hard with myself, Shaun (North) and the gaffer and we have proved what is being done is correct because we have carried on after the goal at the weekend.''

Scott put in a superb performance at Bournemouth on Tuesday night which was topped off by a clean sheet in the shoot-out which handed the Gulls a second round place: ''I'm certainly not going to take the credit for that because Scott made the save but I do have some ideas on facing penalties, we had a little chat before the shoot-out and I think some of it worked. There is a little bit of thought behind what a goalkeeper does in that situation! Scott is a big barrier and is an intimidating figure for anyone taking a penalty against him and he has to use that in his favour. He has a superb physique and he carries it very well for a goalkeeper which all helps him with his 'keeping and he is doing a great job at the moment.''
