PULLING TOGETHER

Posted on: Fri 27 Jan 2012

NORTHAMPTON Town visit Plainmoor tomorrow desperate for points to lift themselves away from the League 2 relegation zone.

It was a similar scenario in Tuesday's 1-0 win over struggling Dagenham and United will have to show similar resilience against the Cobblers.

Expectations have risen with our excellent form of just one defeat in 13 games but the sense of reality from manager Martin Ling is that every game in this division will be a battle.

"We didn't play well the other night but that was partly down to what Dagenham did," said Martin. "I watched the tape of their game at Crewe and despite losing 4-1, it was a tight game.

"They also got a draw at Southend and Northampton are the same. They've signed some players and they've got a top class manager in Aidy Boothroyd. It will be a tough game and you would be a fool to believe any different.

"The fortunes of our football club have risen ten-fold, so you then get the problem of people being disappointed when we don't roll teams over. It won't happen and never will.

"We all need to pull together, staff, players and fans alike. We need to all push as hard as we can to get where we want to go."
