Born in Plymouth, Steve rose through the ranks at Argyle and made his first team debut in 1998 and was a member of the successful Plymouth promotion sides of 2002 and 2004. Steve suffered a bad Achilles injury that cut short his appearances at Sheffield Wednesday and he joined United in January of this year after taking up the contract on offer instead of remaining at Swindon. A calm, reliable player who is easy on the eye, Steve always seems to have time on the ball and looks for the sensible pass and build the play.
