MARK Ellis moved away from his native Devon to pursue a youth career with Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League.
After reaching first-team age, the powerful young centre-back was allowed to leave the Reebok Stadium for a loan spell at Plainmoor in 2007.
He soon signed a permanent contract with United and played a minor role in helping the club win promotion back to the Football League in 2009.
Mark started the following campaign on loan at Forest Green Rovers before returning for a sustained spell in the United side.
Last season began with Ellis again a regular choice at centre-back but he was rested by manager Paul Buckle in February 2010, and then found it impossible to break back into the team due to the strong partnership between Chris Robertson and Guy Branston at the heart of the Yellow defence.
The current campaign started in similar fashion for Mark, playing second fiddle to Robertson and Brian Saah but his patience has been rewarded with a run in the side.
