LLOYD Macklin came through the ranks at Swindon Town and was identified as a future star of the club.
The gifted winger became the youngest ever player to represent the Robins at first-team level when he came on as a substitute against Brentford just a month after turning 17.
The undoubted promise faltered for a couple of seasons and Lloyd moved to Plainmoor in a one-month loan deal in February 2010.
The agreement was made permanent the following summer but his first full season as a Gull was full of frustration, as Lloyd found himself on the fringes of the first-team.
A positive pre-season has brought hope that this will be the year Lloyd fulfils his obvious potential, although the opening third of the campaign has seen the winger mainly on the fringes of the first-team.
