7 - Lee Mansell

Former manager Ian Atkins brought Lee to Plainmoor in the summer of 2006, and the energetic midfielder was one of United's most consistent performers last season leading to him being named as the Supporters Player of the Year.

Highly rated from a young age, Lee made his Football League debut for Luton Town at the age of just 18, and scored 5 goals from 17 starts in his first season. However from that starting point Lee slightly lost his way at Luton and eventually made the move to Oxford United where he was a near ever-present in Oxford's relegation season of 2005/06.

A genuine "box to box" player, Lee is never short of commitment and energy and is able to make valuable contributions at both ends of the pitch. However he may be disappointed with his return of just 4 goals from 48 starts in 2006/07 and manager Paul Buckle may be hoping for more of a goal-scoring contribution this season.

Despite suffering a second successive relegation last season, Lee has decided to stay at Plainmoor for another year and will be hoping for better things this term, although he faces a competitive battle for central midfield starting positions. Lee is squad number 7.
