Youth Alliance - South West

Plymouth Argyle 0 Torquay United 2

United's youth team produced one of their best performances of the season to claim their 8th Youth Alliance win. A 2-0 win away at Argyle was their reward this weekend and manager Matt Williams was very pleased with his team's efforts: 'We scored an early goal three minutes in after a good move which was started and finished by Rob Wearne who scored his third goal in three matches. The second goal came in the second half through an Ed Palmer thunderbolt of a free-kick which capped off a relatively comfortable ninety minutes for us.

'Plymouth always come out to try and pass the ball around on the floor which they did but they never really created much in the way of chances and in the second half especially we took control and should have scored more goals. I think a shot from Saul Halpin went over the line but it wasn't given but I'm not going to complain with the two goals and a clean sheet. The performances have been encouraging for a while now and we seem to be getting the results as well which is giving the players plenty of confidence.'
