DAMON Lathrope began his youth career at Cambridge United but moved to the more illustrious academy at Norwich City in 2006.
The combative midfielder signed professional forms at Carrow Road two years later and joined Bishop’s Stortford on loan in November 2009.
Damon was released by Norwich without making a first-team appearance for the club and United wasted no time in securing his signature.
Injury blighted the first half of his first season at Plainmoor but he broke into the first-team toward the end of the campaign, and began the Martin Ling era full of hope that he would develop as a regular under the new boss.
It was a hope fulfilled as Damon established himself as a vital cog in United’s midfield, anchoring the engine room in a role that allowed others to storm forward.
In the summer of 2016 Damon returned to Torquay United after spells with Hereford United and Aldershot Town.
