THE TORQUAY United Legend was appointed as player-manager on September 28th 2015.
Born in Derby, he began his career as a trainee at Sheffield Wednesday. Turning professional in the summer of 1998, his first-team chances were limited at Hillsborough and after a loan spell with Forest Green Rovers in January 2001, he moved to Northampton Town on a free transfer during the following month.
His next port of call was Notts County, where he established a regular place in the side before linking up with Scarborough following a successful loan spell in 2004.
Returning to Forest Green Rovers, this time on a permanent basis, his impressive form for the club earned him England ‘C’ recognition and attracted plenty of Football League interest.
It was Torquay United who won the race for his signature as he signed for the club in the summer of 2007 and spent seven successful years with us where he amassed over 300 appearances and became a Club Legend for his consistent and whole-hearted displays.
He moved on to Kidderminster Harriers at the start of last season and remained there throughout the campaign before linking up with Bath City this summer and helping them make a bright start to the season.
Combining his playing career whilst also studying for his coaching badges, the 35 year-old is relishing the challenge that stands before him here at Plainmoor in his first managerial appointment.
