United head into Saturday’s 3pm kick-off against Wrexham buoyed by a much-improved performance against Chester FC last time out.

An early goal from on-loan midfielder George Dowling was cancelled out by a late goal from Ross Hannah.

New signings Vincent Dorel, George Dowling, Chinua Cole all made their debuts against Chester. United’s most recent signing Michee Efete joined too late to be included against Chester, but all of the newcomers will have benefitted from a full week’s training with their teammates.

United’s injury list may have eased slightly over the last week which will give Robbie Herrera a few more options ahead of the Wrexham game.

“We might have one or two back, so there might be a change or two for the weekend,” said Herrera.

Centre-back Josh Gowling has played only one match since joining the Club in the summer, but there is a chance he could play some involvement on Saturday.

“He has trained this week. Whether it is too soon to throw him straight in is another matter. That is something that’s I’ll discuss with Josh and Gareth Law [Torquay United physio],” added Herrera.

“With the amount of injuries we have had, the team has almost picked itself. Maybe people have got a little bit too comfortable, knowing that they are going to be playing or involved.

It has been all or nothing so far for the Dragons this season.

They have five wins and three defeats from their eight games. Alex Reid has been a successful loan acquisition from Fleetwood town and has hit three goals so far this season.

The Dragons come into today’s fixture on a run of three wins from their last three matches. A double from Ntumba Massanka clinched another win for Wrexham in their most recent match against Bromley. They had to survive a penalty in the first half. Christian Dibble saved from Frankie Raymond to allow Massanka to claim the plaudits in the second half.
