Tranmere made it to the National League play-off final at Wembley last season. They got there thanks to a semi-final win over Aldershot Town. Rovers won the first leg 3-0 and then drew 2-2 at Prenton Park to reach the final. Forest Green Rovers beat them 3-1 in the final to gain promotion to the EFL.
