Saikou Janneh scored his third goal of the season in last Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Billericay Town. Janneh backed himself to kick-start his loan spell with goals, it took a little longer to get started but he is starting to show what he is truly capable of.

“I joined on loan in September and I’ve learnt so much,” said Janneh. “I’ve improved by working hard in training and listening to the Gaffer, he’s helping me to score more goals. I’m getting to know the way he wants to play the game. I’m leaning how to improve my focus on the pitch.

Despite having his fellow Bristol teammates on loan at TUFC Saikou’s early games were a source of frustration for him. The Yellow Army has seen over the last couple of games that he has pushed on since then.

“When I first came, I was struggling to perform well in a game. I’m scoring goals now and that’s helping the team. The fans are helping too, they are very supportive of me.”

Saikou’s acrobatic finish against Billericay was a highlight of the match.

“It was an alright goal,” Janneh said modestly. “I got myself into the box and Ruairi [Keating] told me to stay near the far post. I staid there and when the ball was in the air, I knew I had to score. I got good contact on the ball and it was good to see it go in. Scoring a goal in front of two thousand people is a great feeling.”

“I’m very happy to be here and I’ve got to know everyone in the team. There are lots of good people here.”
