Young ‘Keeper Signs After Leaving Saints

UNITED have agreed to sign young goalkeeper Neal Osborn following his release from Premier League side Southampton.

Neal (18) is a local lad and was a real shining light in the former Torquay United youth system under current General Manager, Geoff Harrop, leading to Southampton securing his signature as a 15 year-old.

He now returns to Plainmoor and will work alongside the experience of Ryan Clarke to give manager Kevin Nicholson security in his goalkeeping options.

“Neal Osborn will be familiar to some United fans after his time in our youth system a few years ago,” said Nicho. “He’s a young, bright, talented goalkeeper, who now has the chance to flourish on our first-team environment.

“Neal will be pushing Ryan Clarke as hard as he can and it’s great to have a local boy in the squad. He is a confident goalkeeper who believes he can become the number one at Torquay United.

“It is great to hear and I’m sure he will benefit hugely from working with a goalkeeper with the experience of Ryan Clarke.”
