United’s 1-0 win over Leyton Orient was a much needed boost to our bid to avoid relegation this season.

However, one blow on the night was the loss of defender Josh Gowling to injury, after he was knocked unconscious after a collision with his teammate, goalkeeper Vincent Dorel.

After some treatment from TUFC Head of Medical, Gareth Law, everyone heaved a  sigh of relief when Josh was able to get to his feet. Gowling will miss Saturday’s trip to Solihull Moors, however.

“He was [knocked] out,” said TUFC head coach, Gary Owers. “We’re governed by certain rules so he worn’t be available for Saturday and I think he has to undergo some test before he comes back into training which at the moment won’t be until next Thursday.

“There was a lot of people on the pitch, and it was a worry, but he got up and he sat in the dugout for the rest of the game. He had a bit of a sore head yesterday which would be expected.”
