United’s injury list is easing slightly, but a number of players are still unavailable for first team duty.

Below is an update on their progress with recovery estimates.

Damon Lathrope has progressed through his rehab programme and is due to rejoin training.

Jordan Lee is nearing completion of his recovery period following his illness. We are just waiting on Bournemouth and the consultant to give him the all clear and he will be rejoining our squad. We’re led to believe this will be at some point next week but time will tell.

Liam Davis is also nearing the end of his recovery and rehabilitation period. His injury caused debilitating pain and required an extended period out with limited activity initially. He has since progressed through a gradual reintroduction to activities to performing high intensity activities. He is working extremely hard and is just as frustrated as everyone else at his lack of match action. He has recommenced parts of training and will hopefully (providing no setbacks) be training fully within the next week or two.

Jon-Paul Pittman and George Dowling suffered grade 1 hamstring strains away at Barrow and they will be out for 2 weeks.

Yan Klukowski has made progress from his foot injury and once the inflammation and bruising has subsided he will also be looking to rejoin training. This will be within the next fortnight.

Sam Chaney (groin) and Ryan Clarke (back) have both made significant gains in their strength and range of motion following their grade 2 injuries. They are now working pretty much pain free whilst developing the tensile strength of their scar tissue and will be due for return around early to mid-October.

Jake Gosling is still in his ‘boot’ following his fractured metatarsal, but he is working hard on his rehab programme to make sure he is maintaining as much cardiovascular fitness and lower limb strength as he can. He is due to take the boot off in 3 weeks with a view to being available for full training in 5 weeks following progressive rehabilitation.

Dan Lavercombe has returned to Wigan following his fractured tibia.
