Ahead of Saturday’s big match away to Macclesfield Town, we caught up with members of the 1st team for their views.

“We need to get results, it is as simple as that,” said defender Josh Gowling.

“It is going to be a difficult one but we need to go there and be solid and implement our game plan.

“I’ve trained all of this week and last week so I’m getting to where I need to be. I’ve been in the gym working hard to keep my fitness levels up. I feel good.

“If I am selected then I’ve obviously got to use my experience and try and use my energy as best as possible. I’ve been doing triple sessions every day, so training and then cardio work in the gym. I’ve put a lot of effort into getting fit so hopefully I’m not too far off it.

“When we played them earlier in the season I was quite impressed with Macclesfield. They pass the ball well and they are one of the better teams in this league despite their last result.”

“It is vital that we bounce back after Saturday’s result which was unacceptable,” said defender Conrad Balatoni.

“It’ll be a hard game as they’re coming off a heavy defeat as well, so both teams will want to make amends. They’ll be coming right out of the traps trying to get an early goal to settle everyone down.

“They’re top of the league so they’re a good side and we’ll have to be at our best to get something out of the game. I’m looking forward to playing against them and challenging myself against what are now the best team in the league.  All of the boys are looking forward to it and we want to go there and play with confidence.”

“It is a tough place to go but we have to get what we need to get which is a win,” said midfielder Tommy O’Sullivan.

“Hopefully if we can get the first goal it will put us in a position to go and win the game. We need to be better within ourselves and cut the sloppy mistakes out, and hold our own at the back and stop conceding goals. If we get it right on both boxes then we’ll have a good chance of getting a result.

“It will be a good match because of the way they pass the ball, and we want to get the ball down and play too.”

“We need to start a good run of form and play like we know we can”, said midfielder George Dowling.

“I know Macclesfield are a good team and they are doing well of late. They’ve just come off a 6-0 loss and maybe that is something we can use to our advantage.

“We approach every game the same and we need to concentrate on what we need to do.”
