After picking up a point against Barrow last time out, head coach Gary Owers and his assistant Martin Kuhl will be hoping for all three as we welcome Macclesfield Town to Plainmoor.

We’re hoping for a bumper crowd at Plainmoor to welcome our new coaching team in their first home game.

United are buoyed by the loan signings of Rhys Murphy and Josh McQuoid to combat what is still a lengthy injury list. Michee Efete, Callum Evans, and Jennison Myrie-Williams could also make their home debuts for United.

Rory Fallon, Andy Haworth, and Chinua Cole have left the Club after Gary Owers decided not to offer them full contracts.

Macclesfield come Plainmoor on the back of a 4-1 home defeat to Maidstone. They have had a pretty successful start to the season, picking up three wins in August, and two in September so far.

Former Gull Jared Hodgkiss could feature for the Silkmen tomorrow, as well as John Thompson and George Pilkington who could return to the match day squad from injury.

“They have a good away record,” said Owers of Saturday’s opponents. “They have players that can hurt you on the counter-attack.

“We’re going to try and go for it. We want to start the game well and go on the front foot. Our aim is the three points.”
