The Emirates FA Cup 4th round qualifying sees United go to Aldershot Town for the second time this season.

United came out on the wrong end of a 3-2 result back in August.

“It’s a tough draw,” said Owers.

“They’re a team that have been doing well in the league. It isn’t a great draw for either team really. Not for us because it is away from home and they won’t fancy us going there, they could have had an easier draw.

“The league is the preference at the moment. I am concerned about getting three points at the moment rather than the Cup draw. I have had some good days in the FA Cup. I will look forward to it when it comes around but the priority is the games leading up to that game at the moment.”

Gary Owers and his assistant, Martin Kuhl, know Aldershot very well as both had spells as assistant manager at the Club. Owers from 2009-2011 and Kuhl in 2007.

“It is good for me and Martin to go back. I was there as assistant manager, we done well there and got to the playoffs. Martin was there as assistant manager to Gary [Waddock] and got promoted. We know what to expect when we get there.”

The match will take place on the weekend of Saturday, October 14.
