Last weekend saw some of youth teams in action, either participating against PG Academy, who are linked to Premier League side Swansea City, or in the second round of the Junior Premier League.

Junior Premier League | Week Two

TUFC U12s 1-8 Saints South West (Devon)

TUFC U13s 7-7 Saints South West (Devon)

TUFC U14s 1-1 South Dartmoor College FC

TUFC U15s 2-5 South Dartmoor College FC

TUFC U16s 7-5 Yeovil Town FC

TUCST coach Micky Hunt gives us a rundown on some of the weekend action.

“The U11s Yellows played brilliantly against PG Academy. This is the team coached by TUCST head, Craig Hutcheson. They played the right way and kept the ball very well. They played the ‘Torquay United way’, playing out from the back and through the thirds,” said Micky.

“We had a few of the U10s playing a year up in that game. Finley Herbert played very well and scored a hat-trick. Joe Hoskings played at right-back and joined the U11s too.”

“I watched the U12s, and Saints South West U12s were very impressive. Our U12s worked very hard, but their opponents were better on the day.”

“I watched the U15s game and that was a very good game. They played very well against South Dartmoor which is linked to Chelsea FC. The same team last season won everything in the U14s category. We gave them a game, and I think the score should have been a little closer.

“Overall, there were good performances from all of the teams. The coaches are happy and we are moving in the right direction.”
